Our hope is that you find many of the questions that you may have contained here in our website. We also pray that the information here will allow you to become interested in what is going on here at Heritage Baptist Church. As you explore our website, if you have any questions, feel free to contact us by phone, email, or better yet, stop by and get a “real feel” of what the Lord is doing here. We have seen the Lord bring many visitors to our services. Some have chosen to stay, but all have said they get a sense of God’s presence and that they have felt welcome. We hope that you will get that same sense when you visit.
Hope and I look forward to seeing you soon. May the Lord bless you as you seek His will for your life.
For His Glory,
Vance R. Curtis, Sr – Pastor
Frequently Asked Questions
We realize that it can sometimes be overwhelming visiting a church for the very first time. Here at Heritage Baptist Church, you are our honored guest and we want you to be as comfortable as possible. To help with this, we have assembled the answers to some commonly asked questions. If you have any more questions, feel free to drop us a note or call the office. We look forward to meeting you.
It’s up to you. For Sunday services, some people wear business or business casual attire, while others prefer jeans and casual dress. On Wednesdays, most are casual or wearing what they wore to work that day. We want you to be comfortable, and to feel welcomed.
We have a nursery that is provided and staffed by trained caring workers during our services.
During our morning church services, we have children’s programs that run concurrent with our auditorium activities. On Sunday evenings we have a Jrs. 4 Jesus class that our children 2-12 are able to attend. However, if you desire your children to be with you during our services, that is perfectly fine with us. The safety of your children is a primary concern for us. All children’s program workers have met qualification requirements and follow safety guidelines.
Our worship services consist of singing (both congregational and special music), along with prayer, to prepare our hearts to receive the Word of God. The Pastor will preach a message that is Bible based and relevant to our everyday living so that we can apply the principles of God’s Word to our lives. Typically, services conclude with an invitation to come forward for anyone wishing special prayer or counseling – however, this is optional, as we feel that it is God who directs those in attendance to make decisions for Him.
We do collect an offering during our services so that members have an opportunity to be obedient to God’s commands regarding giving. Guests are welcome to but not expected to give.
We are interested in getting to know you, not take your money.
No, you are welcome to attend our services without joining Heritage Baptist Church. We do feel that church membership is an important part of a Christian’s spiritual growth, and if the Lord leads you to join us at the proper time, we would be happy to consider you as a candidate for membership.
